From the square, Via Veneto branches out, the street made famous by Federico Fellini's film La Dolce Vita, and Via del Tritone, which provides easy access to the Trevi Fountain, one of the most visited monuments in the world.

Trevi Fountain is the largest of Rome's famous fountains and one of the most renowned monuments in the world. Designed in late Baroque style, it was commissioned by Pope Urban VIII (of the Barberini family) in 1640.
It’s a must-see attraction in Rome, not least for the tradition of tossing a coin into the fountain for good luck.
To capture a photo of the fountain without the crowds of tourists, it's best to visit early in the morning!

Spanish Steps and Piazza di Spagna



The Spanish Steps, or Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti, is one of the most famous landmarks in Rome. Its name derives from the Palazzo di Spagna, which houses the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See. At the center of the square lies the renowned Barcaccia Fountain, dating back to the early Baroque period, sculpted by Pietro Bernini and his more famous son, Gian Lorenzo Bernini.


The monumental staircase of Trinità dei Monti, with its 135 steps, was built to connect the Spanish Embassy with the Church of Trinità dei Monti.


Keep in mind that (unfortunately) sitting on the steps is strictly prohibited!

Villa Borghese and Borghese Gallery Museum



Villa Borghese is one of the richest Roman villas in terms of artistic and scenic heritage. It encompasses buildings, sculptures, monuments, and fountains created by renowned artists from the Baroque, Neoclassical, and Eclectic periods, all surrounded by ancient trees, small lakes, Italian-style gardens, and vast open spaces.The Borghese Gallery is a museum located within Villa Borghese, still housing much of the art collection initiated by Scipione Borghese, the cardinal nephew of Pope Paul V, who also commissioned the villa’s construction.
The museum showcases statues by Bernini and Canova, as well as paintings by Caravaggio, Raphael, Perugino, Rubens, Bellini, and Titian. It is considered unique worldwide for the quantity and significance of Bernini’s sculptures and Caravaggio’s paintings. This is a must-see attraction and should be booked in advance.
