Castel Sant'Angelo (or Mole Adrianorum or Castellum Crescentii in the 10th-12th centuries), also known as Hadrian's Mausoleum, is a monument in Rome, located on the right bank of the Tiber opposite the pons Aelius (present-day Sant'Angelo Bridge), a short distance from the Vatican, between the Borgo and Prati districts; it is connected to the Vatican State through the fortified corridor of the "passetto," which was the protected passage for the pontiff from St. Peter's Basilica to the fortress.
Piazza Barberini is a square in the historic center of Rome, located between the Quirinal Hill and the Horti Sallustiani. At the center of the square stands the Triton Fountain, created by Gian Lorenzo Bernini in 1643 under the commission of Pope Urban VIII Barberini. From the square, Via Veneto branches out, the street made famous by Federico Fellini's film La Dolce Vita, and Via del Tritone, which provides easy access to the Trevi Fountain, one of the most visited monuments in the world.
The Spanish Steps, or Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti, is one of the most famous landmarks in Rome. Its name derives from the Palazzo di Spagna, which houses the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See. At the center of the square lies the renowned Barcaccia Fountain, dating back to the early Baroque period, sculpted by Pietro Bernini and his more famous son, Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
The monumental staircase of Trinità dei Monti, with its 135 steps, was built to connect the Spanish Embassy with the Church of Trinità dei Monti.
Keep in mind that (unfortunately) sitting on the steps is strictly prohibited!
